Confidentiality

At Maxxam, we understand that our ability to protect our clients, and their sensitive information, is as important as our ability to provide the answers they need. We have taken numerous steps to safeguard your information.

Our staff:

  • Maxxam staff members are selected, not only for their skill and experience, but also for their understanding of the principles of good forensic science, which includes the requirement for confidentiality.
  • Staff members in our human DNA department have security clearances issued by the Government of Canada. Our staff members have signed confidentiality agreements protecting the information provided by our clients.

Our policies:

  • Maxxam policy is based on the Privacy Act and guidelines from the Privacy Commissioner. While both the guidelines and the Act are aimed at controlling government use of genetic information, Maxxam has voluntarily researched and adopted these as an effective means of information security.

Our facility:

  • Our facility has been inspected for Document Security. Using coated exterior glass and 24 hour monitoring, we can ensure that the information we have on-site is kept private and confidential.

Our initiative and effort in developing industry leading security measures represents our commitment to the protection of your information. In all cases, you can be confident that the sensitive and vital information you have entrusted to us will be handled with the utmost in discretion and security.
